Chelsea Independent College has been accredited by AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) to deliver its accounting qualifications. AAT is the UK’s leading qualification and professional body for vocational accountants. Its range of qualifications is open to all regardless of previous qualifications and includes the AAT Accounting Qualification, as well as bookkeeping and other finance qualifications.

What is AAT

The AAT Accounting Qualification has been introduced at Chelsea Independent College for students to study the ‘Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting’ in addition to their A Level courses. Only AAT Approved training providers are allowed to deliver AAT qualifications and courses and they must first go through a rigorous verification process. Students therefore know that registering with an AAT Approved training provider will ensure they receive the highest standard of teaching.

Why study AAT

Artur Mager, Teacher of Accounting at Chelsea Independent College said: “AAT qualifications provide a prominent route to a career in the accounting and finance industries. Chelsea Independent College will benefit from the ability to offer our students the chance to add to their financial skills and gain a professional status, which will be recognised internationally in the professional finance industry”.

All businesses, public bodies and charities have requirements for well-trained finance staff, and students who achieve AAT qualifications demonstrate that they have the skills in place to carry out this important function. On successful completion of the course, the students can apply for AAT bookkeeping membership.

Becoming an AAT bookkeeping member (AATQB) marks your first step into the world of finance and will help you stand out to clients or employers. Also as an AAT bookkeeping member, you will gain professional recognition using the designatory letters 'AATQB' after your name and can even apply to become self-employed and offer bookkeeping services to the general public as an AAT Licensed Bookkeeper.
