Boarding (Age 14+)

Students who wish to board at Chelsea Independent College enjoy all the benefits of living in one of London’s most desirable neighbourhoods whilst also receiving pastoral care of the highest level. Our students are nurtured and cared for by professional boarding staff who work closely with their colleagues in the college. This includes a residential tutor programme which runs in tandem with the college’s own tutoring system, meaning that students are supported by staff who have a comprehensive understanding of their progress and wellbeing both inside and outside the classroom.

Students are encouraged to explore the many wonderful things that London has to offer in an environment that is carefully managed through daily registration, house meetings and strictly implemented curfews. During evenings and weekends, boarders can choose from a wide range of sporting and social activities, including excursions to some of the UK’s most exciting cultural destinations.

With its bright, open and modern spaces, our boarding accommodation - Princess Beatrice House - is amongst the best in the UK. We offer single, double and triple rooms all with en-suite bathrooms. Students enjoy three meals per day, expertly prepared by our catering team. They also benefit from kitchenette facilities in their own rooms, allowing them to prepare additional meals if needed.

Accommodation for students 18+

New or continuing students aged 18 by the 1st September of the academic year in question typically opt to stay in IQ Hammersmith. IQ is an independent student accommodation company which is highly recommended by us due to its outstanding facilities and close proximity to the college. CIC students benefit from a preferential rate but applications and payment must be arranged directly with IQ. The facility is located two minutes’ walk from Hammersmith tube station, providing easy access to the college and central London. The accommodation features state-of-the-art gym facilities, a cinema room, study areas and an enclosed private terrace. This exclusive residence gives students the opportunity to move towards greater independence in preparation for university living, whilst still having access to our support services and our social programme.
