Intro text

The study of humanities, particularly at GCSE level, is essential to a well-rounded education.

Our GCSE Humanities department offers six key subjects to equip students with the written and analytical skills to go on to study a wide range of subjects at A-Level.

Through studying humanities, students explore the world in which we live today, and in the past. Students are taught how cultural, historical, environmental and political factors influence human societies.

Lessons are taught in small groups where discussions and collaborative learning is encouraged. This is particularly important in humanities subjects where debate and the sharing of ideas is key to learning.

Along with the core subject GCSE English, students can choose which additional humanities subjects they would like to study and are encouraged to combine these with subjects from other faculty areas.
