CIC art department gallery visits

The CIC art department have had a busy term visiting lots of London galleries:

2nd October 2018: The V&A Museum

A-Level Textiles students visited the annual ‘Jameel Prize Exhibition’ an international award for contemporary art and design inspired by Islamic tradition. Students enjoyed the exhibition and were particularly fascinated by the wide range of media used by the eight artists and designers on show. Whilst at the museum, students also took the opportunity to explore its amazing art collections from Japan, China, Islamic Middle East and Korea, from which they gathered vital information for their upcoming A-Level coursework projects.

Year 13 art students had a wonderful afternoon exploring its permanent collection.

9th November: Tate Modern

On Friday 9th November, the year 10 GCSE art group went on a college trip to Tate Modern where they looked at a range of modern paintings, photographs and installations. They ended their trip with a visit to the viewing gallery where they photographed St Paul’s from above.

14th November: Tate Britain

On Wednesday 14th November, GCSE and Pre A-level students went on a trip to Tate Britain, Pimlico. They visited the permanent collection there, which includes artwork ranging from the sixteenth century until the present day. They were particularly impressed by the Henry Moore sculptures.
