GCSE and A-Level results 2017

A-Level results

A-Level results day saw several students excelling to the highest possible standards and achieving straight A*s. In fact, one in every ten A-Level result received was an A*, with three in every ten being an A. Economics, Maths, Art, Chemistry, Languages and English performed particularly well with a large proportion of students achieving A*/A grades in these subjects.

OCR praised CIC’s English department, and observed that:

‘Candidates showed an excellent knowledge of the text and its context, and constructed interesting and well-supported arguments… The tasks were challenging but the candidates responded with enthusiasm and no small skill.’

University progression

Strong A-Level grades resulted in excellent university progression. One student is now off to Cambridge, with others going to universities such as Durham, UCL, Imperial, UAL, King's College London, City University London, and other leading Russell Group universities.

GCSE results day

GCSE results day also saw the vast majority of students do well. Special congratulations go to the maths department, 35% of whose candidates got the new '9' grade, and a further 20% of whom got the 7-8 grade which is the equivalent of A; to Chemistry, a third of whom got A or A* grades; and to those responsible for our 38 A*, A and 8-9 grades.

Well done, each and all.
