School Awards Ceremony 2019

Report by Stuart Humphreys, Head of Science & IT, Chemistry Teacher

The highly anticipated CIC Annual Awards Ceremony took place on Wednesday 1st May for Lower school and Wednesday 8th May for Upper school.  Our dedicated teachers are proud of the achievements made by their students this academic year, both in the classroom and outside.  The awards handed out to particular students not only commend particular students for their attainment but also inspires those around them to push themselves even further.

Faculty Heads of Science, Mathematics, Social sciences, Humanities, Modern Languages and Art were thrilled to read out the names of their selected winners and to explain the reasons for their choices.  Each award came with a CIC certificate of achievement and a £20 Amazon voucher.

The grand finale was the deliverance of the Principal’s Award for the student, both male and female, who had contributed most to college life.  In addition to academic progress, this award recognises someone that consistently inspires others, enhances the inclusivity and cultural cohesion within the college and promotes the fundraising and extracurricular activities.  This year there were two Principal’s awards for the men, as they received equal votes, and one for the ladies. These awards went to Alex McIver, Thomas Doyle and Tori Fu.

All the staff at CIC now wish our final year GCSE and A level students every success in their public exams and look forward to another year of great progress and achievement amongs our students.
